About Willie

Willie Runte is a Brazilian photographer from Rio de Janeiro based in Manchester, England. He began his career immediately after receiving his Bachelors of Journalism in 2003. He is an expert in digital manipulation; working with a variety of photo enhancing software including Photoshop. He has shot for lifestyle, design, fashion and architectural magazines in Brasil and England and has also worked for a few companies such as Wella, and La Roche-Posay. Beginning as a photographer’s assistant, he worked with many international professionals such as Eddy Kohli, Tim Tadder, Jonathan Oakes, Reinaldo Smoleanschi, Luiz Garrido, Isabel Garcia, Milton Montenegro, and Photolink studios, which helped him not only to understand light amazingly well but also to comprehend the client’s needs and way of thinking.

Lately Willie has been awarded in many competitions including The Sun Rise Awards for best Overall Submission, The art of the city and The SUN AWARDS 2010.

His latest work include the Sisters of Transistors album, images for Elbow tour, Littlewoods catalogue and many websites including the Mancunian company World Class service. Also he’s working on personal projects and shooting for Design Upon Mersey as part of their first team of creatives.

In may 2011 Willie had his first exhibition in the Chorlton Arts Festival at the Arison Gallery and is preparing a second on for the Didsbury Arts Festival.
